Weekdays 8:00am – 4:00pm; Weekend/Night limited availability

Field Work:

Field time moving equipment as needed (partial time working in California satellite shop)

Full Job Description

This position in a shop-based role with limited field work (partial time working in California satellite shop). Primary role will be to oversee the assembly, disassembly, and maintenance of shop equipment as per SOP standards. The individual will also assist engineers in the preparation and testing/calibration of electronic equipment. He/She will monitor the shop inventory of assets and consumables. The Shop Foreman will be responsible for implementing and sustaining the facility Health and Safety management programs, managing the health and safety activities for the shop to ensure regulatory compliance, and protecting human health and company assets.

The Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) will have the responsibility to manage and oversee all radiation safety operations, support all relevant licensures and registrations, supervise staff when using radioactive materials, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Become and remain knowledgeable in processes and procedures related to downhole equipment maintenance

  • Assist shop personnel in assembling/disassembling field equipment and electronic tools

  • Maintain cleanliness and efficiency of shop area

  • Manage inventory of shop assets and consumables

  • Evaluate efficiency of shop processes and develop streamlined methods if necessary

  • Perform weekly inspections of shop/equipment for accident prevention

  • Handling shipping and receiving of heavy equipment such as drilling collars

  • Observe workers to determine use of prescribed safety equipment such as glasses, boots, gloves

  • Prepares hazard identification reports

  • Reviews and maintains MSDS master records

  • Inspects specified areas for fire prevention and proper first aid supplies

  • Ensure all aspects of Cordax Radiation Safety training program are adhered to

  • Maintain radiation control equipment (dosimeter badges, survey meters, source handling sticks)
