Description
Cordax’s Logging While Tripping (LWT) utilizes memory based logging tools deployed in specialized drill collars acquiring data during pipe tripping operations. The LWT Field Engineer position is a critical part Cordax Evaluation Technologies. Working in as a team, the Field Engineer deploys the LWT equipment as part of the drilling process and ensures accurate logging data is acquired. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this Oklahoma based position requires field deployments to projects primarily in Oklahoma but also other areas of the continental U.S. There are also opportunities for international assignments. The successful candidate must be available for and eligible to travel to client sites. Responsiblities
Acquires quality open hole logging data using patented LWT technique.
Performs pre-job planning of logging operations.
Crew management. Technical communications with customer.
Coordinates with other Field Supervisors to handle equipment movements and coordinate projects.
Prepares compliance documents that meet or exceed government regulations and company requirements. Able to work independently with little or no supervision for extended periods of time in remote areas. Potential for working in high or low ambient temperatures.
Calibration, maintenance, and electronic troubleshooting of downhole tools and uphole systems.
Adheres to Cordax strict code of conduct and HSE procedures. Ensures that all Cordax personnel on the jobsite follow corporate policy.
Special projects as required.
Experience / Requirements
Legally entitled to work in the U.S. Proficient in spoken and written English.
New grads welcome
Past technical experience in open hole wireline logging, MWD, mudlogging, or other petroleum industry experience are assets.
Past experience working in remote locals for extended periods of time an asset.
Eligible for travel outside of the U.S. Driving a company vehicle is required for this position. The successful candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a CDL drivers license and meet Cordax insurer's eligibility requirements for insurance coverage while driving.
Successful applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment fitness for work test. Employees are required to be fit for duties and free of impairment while at work. Up to date safety training courses an asset (H2S, First Aid, CPR).
This is an Oklahoma City based position that requires regular travel to field sites for the performance of the work. All non-field days are spent in the Oklahoma City facility maintaining and testing equipment. Will consider candidates based in Texas.
Education
Technical university degree or college diploma preferred. Will consider candidates with high level of field experience in lieu of formal technical education.
Cordax provides training on tools and equipment through internal and external training.
