Zone Grader Advanced - Assumptions to Flag Pay

  • Clay Volume must be low. The yellow coloring indicating potential reservoir rocks.
  • Reservoir rocks are usually more brittle than the surrounding shales. The Index of Brittleness highlights the more brittle rocks in the orange coloring.
  • There needs to be some porosity for reservoir storage. The green shading indicates intervals where the clay and kerogen corrected effective porosity is above a threshold to have sufficient storage capacity to flag a potential reservoir.
  • Water saturation flag is shown in the grey shading as being below a threshold for a low water cut completion. 
  • The permeability cutoff is indicated by the light orange track to indicate reservoir rock that has the potential to flow commercial rates.
  • The red shading indicates intervals where the conditions are met for the zone to be counted as "net pay".
